Charikleia Vlahou

Montessori Teacher

From a young age, my love for babies and preschool children drove me to pursue a life dedicated to understanding and educating them. Enjoying observing children and playing with them, I quickly realized how magical their way of thinking and learning is.

This curiosity and passion led me to obtain a degree in Preschool Education from the University of Patras. During my studies, I discovered the deeper science behind child development and how important a suitable educational environment is. My desire to give children the best possible start in life drove me to continue my studies in Nottingham, England, where I earned a Master’s degree in Special Education (Master of Arts in Professional Development in Special Needs).

My international experience in schools in England, such as Canon Barnett in London, equipped me with knowledge and skills that I brought back to Greece. My work in a Montessori school as a parallel support teacher began at Learning Steps in Kifissia. This first exposure to the method led me to delve deeper into the Montessori approach, which fascinated me from the very beginning with its approach to child development. In 2015, I obtained Montessori Education certification for children aged 3-6 years from the internationally recognized institute Association Montessori Internationale (AMI).

The Montessori method is not just a way of education, but a way of life. It helps children develop into independent, confident personalities with respect for themselves and others. In the continuation of my professional career, I worked at the Montessori Community School as well as with families. Having worked with many families, I have seen how important parental support is in implementing this method at home. I work closely with them, providing advice and guidance on creating an environment that encourages children’s independence and self-discipline.

At Montessorians, I believe we can offer an educational environment where every child has the opportunity to grow and thrive according to their own interests and pace. My many years of experience and knowledge, combined with the dedication and expertise of my colleagues, guarantee that every child will receive the best possible care and education. Together, we can create a learning community that supports and inspires our children to become happy and fulfilled adults.
